Collab 1/31
This week was a challenging one for me, mostly due to more hours at work and my husband being out of town which meant parenting solo. Intuitively, I know that when we feel overwhelmed is when practicing breathwork (and other self-care) is the most needed and effective... but knowing and doing is two different things!
Like Hanna, I did naturally find micro moments (1-2mins) of intentional breathing throughout the day when I felt particularly stressed - which felt like small wins and did help to bring me back to center! On the nights I did follow-through with my practice, I noticed I felt more calm and in touch with myself. The WeRelease breathing technique was super timely for me, although it was a little challenging for me to do the circular breathing with intensity, the focus on creating the continuous breath cycle got me out of my head and into my body - which felt like a much needed release. :)
One of my highlights from the week was starting on my own personal lesson plan. I'm curating my session specifically for new or expecting mamas and am focusing on the more gentle, relaxing techniques like 4-7-8 and humming bee breath. I'm thoroughly enjoying the intentionality that goes into creating a session, meshing the science, spirituality, and sounds to make a breathwork class so transformative. I'm struggling a little bit to find music for each technique that I like and is also the tempo I need but it's fun to explore different types of music and genres. I'm equally excited and intimidated to have the opportunity to practice this in real life soon!
Can't wait to see everyone tomorrow and learn from Natasha and each other!! Hope you all have a great night. <3
